Lentil
Concept design and validation
Working together with the Lentil team, we ideated on various concepts based on insights from user research. Narrowing it down, I set out to design and validate 2 concepts.
Concept 1
Personal and usage data donation
Objective
- Identify user concerns and needs in regards to personal and usage data collected from various work related apps and services.
- Validate the concept of donating personal and usage data to research institutes.
- Using an existing brand identity, design screens based on requirements from POs and user research.
User research
I conducted user interviews with 15 participants ranging from ages 25-45 with the aim to identify users’ perceptions of personal data collection in exchange for software services.
Research insights showed that users aged between 31-45 are more concerned with exchanging their personal data for software services, where as users aged between 25-30 were less concerned.
As the participant segment was quite small, advised to conduct a quant study in order to validate this assumption.
UI Design
In parallel to the user research, I designed screens and created a prototype based on requirements identified by POs and other stakeholders, using an existing brand identity.
These screens would later be used for investor pitches and further user research.
Concept 2
Local concerts and performances based on listening data
Objective
- Conceptualise a ticket purchasing platform using user’s listening data and requirements from POs.
- Design a brand identity that the assumed target market can identify with.
- Create an Information Architecture and user flows, design wireframes, app and website.
Information Architecture, User Flows, and Wireframes
I created an information architecture (IA) based on requirements from POs and other stakeholders.
Based on the IA I designed wireframes and user flows using best practices.
Brand identity
As lentil is a start-up and consisted of a small team, my responsibilities included branding and UI.
I as tasked with designing a brand identity that our assumed target audience would be able to relate to and find appealing.
UI Design
I designed a website that included information about our events creation platform with the aim of getting early adopters to sign up to join our service as part of our pilot.
